The Senate President Bukola Saraki has addressed members of the Nigeria Labour Congress protesting against the government. The Senate President alongside some members of the National Assembly promised a review of the National Minimum Wage and support for the executive to get Nigeria out of recession.
"We are on the same side, because we all want Nigeria to be better!" Saraki said.
He added: "I hear you! The exchange rate is high, the tension is high -- the only thing that has stayed low are your salaries."
Saraki promised to look into the matter causing the grievances. "As we continue with the budget process, we must find palliative measures. We cannot continue like this!" he told the protesters.
The protesters had marched to the National Assembly to complain about the bad governance and the suffering in the land.
