BREAKING: Magu arrives senate for confirmation screening

Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrived at the national assembly for his confirmation screening.

Senate President Bukola Saraki had announced Magu’s screening on Tuesday.

In December, the senate rejected Magu’s nomination, citing a report by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The anti-graft czar was accused of corruption ‎and “gross violation of human rights”.  He was also alleged to be in possession “of undeclared pieces of property.”

President Muhammadu Buhari appointed him in November 2015, after sacking Ibrahim Lamorde
