PDP crisis: Jonathan in late night meeting with PDP govs

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday night held a closed door meeting with governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as part of efforts at finding a political solution to the leadership crisis rocking the party.

The meeting, which was held at Jonathan’s Maitima residence, had nine governors in attendance.

Those present were governors of Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Taraba, Cross Rivers, Abia, Ebonyi, Gombe and Bayelsa states while Rivers State was represented by the deputy governor.

The former president had earlier promised to help find a solution to the lingering crisis in the party.

Jonathan had previously met separately with the feuding parties as well as members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) led by Senator Walid Jibrin.

Sources said the meeting was expected to discuss issues crucial to the survival of the PDP “especially as it affects recent developments in the party.”
