President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a congratulatory message to Prince Tony Momoh.
Momoh, a veteran journalist and former minister of information and culture, will be 78 on Thursday, April 27.
His name has also been mentioned as one of the likely replacement for the suspended, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal.

Media reports suggests President Buhari is currently searching for Lawal's replacement
Momoh, a long time political ally of the president, was listed along side Customs boss; Colonel Hamed Ali (rtd), Education minister; Malam Adamu Adamu and minister of science and technology, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu.
President Buhari said he is joining Momoh’s professional and political colleagues, his friends and family in celebrating the cerebral statesman whose career in journalism, as an editor and administrator, covers some of the most dramatic, and defining moments of Nigeria’s history.
As he turns 78 years old, the president extols the courage, versatility and nobility that the Edo-born politician has exuded in making tough and selfless decisions for the benefit of the nation.
“President Buhari recalls with delight his many insightful encounters with the septuagenarian over the years, affirming that Momoh will always be remembered for his unalloyed support for the truth that culminated in the electoral victory of 2015.
“He prays that God will grant the former minister longer life, good health and more wisdom to serve his community and the country,” a statement by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina read.

Meanwhile, the senior special assistant to President Buhari on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu has revealed that more corrupt officials in the current administration would soon be sacked by the president.
Mallam Shehu made the revelation in an exclusive interview with the Daily Trust in Abuja while speaking on the circumstances that led to the suspension of Lawal.
