He said this in reaction to demand that since Sheriff seemed to be at loggerheads with some top party members, including governors, he should leave the party and form another platform.
Reacting, Maidugu said nothing like that will happen.

“He should leave the PDP when he’s the national chairman declared by the Court of Appeal? How can he leave the PDP?
“Those who do not want him should go and form another party, we don’t have any problem with that. We’re right now operating from Wadata Plaza (party national headquarters),” he told Daily Trust.
Asked if Sheriff really meant well for the PDP, the legal practitioner said the former governor or Borno State wouldn’t have accepted the Governor Seriake Dickson’s report if he was working against the party.
“It is those who do not mean well for the PDP that are trying to sabotage the Appeal Court judgement. They are trying to sabotage our judiciary and think they own it.
“They went to the Supreme Court and keep telling people that they are going to get judgement there as if the Supreme Court is their house boy or it belongs to them. No, it is the Supreme Court of Nigeria”, he said.
