Nigerian Driver Rapes Mentally Challenged Woman

A Nigerian man who works as a driver at a group home owned by his wife, has been charged with having sex with a woman who lives at the home, according to arrest warrants.

53-year-old Nnamdi Godson Nwankwo, of 527 Braswell Court in Rolesville, was charged with second-degree forcible rape and sexual activity by a substitute parent.

Two officers on patrol along Merrell Drive in east Raleigh saw a suspicious car in a secluded area at about 10 a.m. Tuesday and found Nwankwo in the car with a 47-year-old woman, police said.


The two people were not fully clothed, and police immediately noticed the female victim had a possible cognitive impairment.
According to the warrant, the victim’s mental capacity did not give her the ability to provide consent.
