Civil servants in Ebonyi state have reportedly been banned from using Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites, by the Dave Umahi-led state government.

- A certain Chris Nnanna Ogba Jp posted a document on Facebook which appeared to be a circular, intimating the civil servants in Ebonyi state of the state government’s directive
- The state government allegedly claims that the workers were using social media as an outlet to post obnoxious comments about the government
- The government of Dave Umahi allegedly stated that the worker’s actions go against the rules of public service
Civil servants in Ebonyi state have reportedly been banned from using Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites, by the Dave Umahi-led state government.
The development was made public by a Facebook user, Chris Nnanna Ogba Jp.
We note that Nnanna posted what appeared to be a circular to that effect, on his page.

According to the circular, the Ebonyi government accused the civil servants of using social media to post obnoxious comments about them.
According to the government, the actions of the workers amounted to biting the fingers that feeds them, and was in contravention of Public Service Rules.
