This stemmed from a debate on the resolution of the Senate that Magu should no longer be in office as EFCC chairman
The Senate on Tuesday placed embargo on the confirmation of nominees from the Presidency.
It said the embargo will remain in place until the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, is removed from office.
The Senate had rejected the Acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency over indicting security reports from Department of State Services.

However, the Senate, in its resolution from a Point of Order raised on the floor by Senator Sani Yerima on Tuesday over a statement credited to the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that Senate has no right to confirm Magu, said it would no longer confirm any nominee from the Presidency.
Yerima said that the issue of the power to confirm any nominee must be resolved now.
Speaking in the issue, the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said the Senate will take the “appropriate action” if Osinbajo failed to do the needful, a term that has been read to mean impeachment.
Saraki said: “This resolution must be adhered to by the Acting President, otherwise we will be taking the appropriate action.”
