The charges are the second set of a series of charges the Lagos State Government filed against him and his alleged accomplices.
In one of the charges, Evans and three others are charged with the murder of Peter Nweke and Chigozie Ngozi who are said to be police officers attached to the Chairman of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Vincent Amaechi Obianodo.

In another of the charges, the three defendants are charged with conspiracy and the attempted kidnap of Mr Obianodo.
The offences were allegedly committed on August 23, 2013, in Festac Town, Lagos.
In reaction to Evans’ application on Thursday, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution, Ms Titilayo Shitta-Bey, told Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo that the application to strike out the charges was aimed at frustrating the trial.
Counsel to Evans, Olukoya Ogungbeje denied the claim and insisted that by filing multiple charges against his client, one of which is not even backed by a proof of evidence, it is rather the prosecution that is delaying the trial.
After listening to both sides, Justice Taiwo adjourned the proceedings to March 21.
