The National Assembly has transmitted a clean copy of the amendments made to the 2010 electoral act to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent, Daily Trust has gathered.
The two chambers of the National Assembly had penultimate Wednesday passed the amendments made to the electoral act.
A ranking senator said the clean copy of the amendment was transmitted to the President last week by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani- Omolori.

“It has been transmitted to the President for assent by the Clerk last week. With this, we have concluded our part of the process in line with the Constitution. It is now up to the President to either assent it or reject it,” the ranking senator told our correspondent.
The lawmaker who does not want to be named said if the President refuses to act on it within 30 days of the transmission, they will override it, insisting that the amendment was done in the interest of the masses.
