According to The Punch, a report from the committee’s investigation into the agency revealed that it collected $289 million as intervention funds from the Goodluck Jonathan administration, out of which $202 million remains unaccounted for.
The committee had equally investigated the $43 million find, under removed Director General of NIA, Ambcommnnitee.
It said that apart from the $43 million, another $44 million was transferred to another location for safe keeping while the remaining $202 million appeared to have developed wings.
It said all the principal actors involved could not help the committee’s work as they did not provide any cogent information.
The committee urged the security agencies to wade in to ensure the case is investigated thoroughly and the perpetrators punished.
In the same vein, the committee recommended that appropriate disciplinary actions should be taken against Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele for failing to heed summons to appear before the committee.
