The hallowed chamber said he would brief the National Assembly on Wednesday next week.
This resolution followed a motion sponsored by senator George Akume representing Benue North East senatorial district.

It would be recalled that the people of Benue State have been victims of extra-judicial killings occasioned by herdsmen almost on daily basis. This gruesome waste of human lives and property even have degenerated into the invasion of churches and killing of two Reverend Fathers two days ago.
Akume in his lead debate said despite interventions by the senate and the deployment of police and soldiers in the affected areas of the state, human lives and property are still being wasted.
Lawmakers consequently condemned the lingering insecurity in the state in particular and the country as a whole. They believed that it was necessary for the president to explain the circumstances and reasons the killings and wanton destruction of property have continued unabated in the country.
