The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained the former governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, at its Kaduna zonal office, Daily Trust reports.

Yero was reportedly detained alomgside a former minister, Nuhu Somo Way; a former Kaduna state PDP chairman, Abubakar Gaya Haruna; and the former secretary to the state government, Hamza Ishaq.
We notes that in line with EFCC procedure, the four persons have been reporting at the Commission’s office for the past two months.
Inside sources speaking on the condition of anonymity reportedly stated that the individuals were detained when they went to report at the EFCC office on Wednesday morning, May 30, as they would be arraigned in court on Thursday, May 31.
A source stated: “The case is coming up tomorrow, so I can confirm to you that the former governor is here with us and he will be arraigned at the court with the three others.”

Recall that We previously reported that Yero spent about four hours at the Kaduna office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission on Friday, May 25.
The ex governor was at the Commission’s office from around 9am till about 1:30pm when he walked out smiling.
He thanked his supporters who were outside the EFCC office for their solidarity, and asked them to go to the mosques for Juma’at prayer. He declined to make comment to the press.
