A member of the upper chamber, Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi west has said claimed that the comptroller general of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Hameed Ibrahim Ali, is the chairman of President Muhammadu Buhari's campaign organisation.

Melaye said that the comptroller general is a rank and that Ali should not lead a campaign organisation.
Melaye made this remark in a recent tweet posted on Thursday, May 31 on the Nigerian Senate Twitter page.

Meanwhile, We reported that according to a tweet, Melaye posted on his Twitter account early morning of Monday, April 23, that he was arrested on his way to Morocco for an official engagement.
Melaye tweeted: “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the federal government after checking in.”
