Sule Lamido who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the party must do everything to defeat the All progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
Vanguard reports that he visited members of the National Working Committee to formally inform the party of his intent to seek the ticket of the PDP to contest the 2019 presidential election on Thursday, June 28.

Lamido described himself as a bridge-builder and called on Nigerians to help it reclaim power in 2019.
He said the APC would cease to exist if President Muhammadu Buhari leaves the party. "People have left the PDP and we are still here. Take Buhari out of the APC, and the party is dead.
“I am a national bridge and I have a large heart. I am not an aspirant but the aspirant. We are determined to reclaim Nigeria for Nigerians and if you are on the same page with me; then, we must collectively rescue this nation from the hands of these people," he said.
Meanwhile, the national leader of the APC Chief Bola Tinubu has reportedly accused the PDP of plotting to loot the country’s treasury for 60 years.

In an earlier report, the former Lagos state governor’s allegation was contained in a goodwill message released on Saturday, June 23, after the party’s convention.
Tinubu said many people were against the formation of the APC and did all they could to stop the merger. He alleged that the doubters forged different tactics to prevent the APC’s formation.
