The 50-year-old activist cum politician disclosed on his Facebook page that he would still be contesting in the election.
“This is to thank all my supporters and friends for the show of solidarity and assurances of support over my decision to exit the APC.
He said: “I assure you that in the next two days you will be informed of my new party. And be rest assured I will contest in the upcoming elections Insha Allah.”
The resignation from the APC began months after the election of Adams Oshimhole as the chairman of the party.
Comrade Oshimhole, 65, a former leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC who took over the leadership of the party from John Oyegun, was recently accused by the Governor of Ogun state of working in connivance with a top party chieftain to install a Governorship aspirant different from his consensus candidate.
Although the party had decided on a direct primaries in Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, a two-term Governor said he had zoned the Governorship To Yewa.
The out-going Governor went on to announce Adekunle Akinlade has his successor.
But in a primary election held in the state by the The National Working Committee, the body authorised to conduct the votes, announced Dapo Abiodun, 58, Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, as the winner of the election it held on October 3, 2018.
Speaking with journalists today, Governor Amosun, who has visited President Muhammadu Buhari several time at the Villa over the issue of his preferred candidate said there was a silence from Bola Ahmed Tinubu which translate to mean their consent in what was going on.

The Governor said: “The issue of Chief Osoba and Asiwaju and co, what we said was that there was a deafening silence from their end, and silence means consent. You can record me and publish out in your newspapers’
“We have not heard one word from any of them. Was there any election in Ogun State? Yes or No? They should come out and those that are hiding behind one finger, they cannot come out. People at this level should be courageous enough to take position, to come out , to come and tell us whether there was election.
“On governorship, the day they said they did it or not, the one that we had, there was live telecast, people even witnessed. They all came that they are changing again. They removed Leke Adewolu, Mikail Kazeem. All of those ones are nothing but fraud.”
