Abia South: Wabara, Abaribe, Nkwonta, 8 Others Battle For Abia South Senate Seat

The contest to represent Abia South Senatorial District at the national assembly has taken shape as 11 candidates have emerged as flag-bearers for their different parties.

The incumbent Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the PDP, will be faced with other stiff opponents like Sir Marcus Inyanagbo Wabara of the APC, Chief Chris Nkwonta of APGA,  Ucheagwu Morgan Ijeoma (A N P),   Maduforo David Chinedu (U P P),  Galore Eze ( D A) , Chigozirim Innocent Ahaiwe (R P N), Ifeanyi Uduezue Mgbemena (J M P),  Nwankwoji Dennis Nwanosike (S D P), Ijoma Moses Okey, (Labour Party) and Ogbugo Chinedu Olediawa(A D C).

It is believed that the battle is a three horse race between Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Sir Marcus Wabara and Chief Chris Nkwonta.

The incumbent senator hails from the Ngwa axis of Abia South, precisely Obingwa LGA where the governor of the state also hails from, while Sir Marcus Wabara and Chief Chris Nkwonta both hail from Ukwa axis of Abia South.

Ukwa axis of Abia South are presently agitating to take over the senatorial seat for equity sake, they believe that the governor and the senator should not be domicile in the same LGA in Abia South.
