Man shot as gunmen abduct wife, daughter in Abuja

Suspected kidnappers have shot a man simply identified as Anyinu and abducted his wife and daughter in Abaji area council of Abuja.

The incident reportedly occurred at Nuku village off the road leading to Rubochi in the early hours of Saturday.

Some people who witnessed the incident were said to have taken the man to a nearby hospital.

Anjuguri Manzah, FCT police spokesman, confirmed the incident, saying the command is making efforts to rescue the captives.

“The command is making concerted effort to rescue the victims and arrest the suspects,” he told TheCable.

There appears to be a spike of kidnapping activities in the part of the federal capital territory (FCT) which borders Kogi state on the south.

In November, Ibrahim Pada, traditional ruler of Rubochi community, was abducted and released after a ransom was paid.
