* Governor Sacks 1,000 Aides over Non-Performance
Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi has revealed that he supported President Muhammadu Buhari against his former party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the 2019 presidential election.
Making this disclosure on Monday, Umahi said that he joined APC because of President Buhari’s love for Ebonyi state.
Umahi who laid the foundation of a housing project in Uburu his hometown on Monday said he supported the person that supported his state.
“I preached it in the entire south-east zone of the country, that the person who supports us is whom we will support.
“I joined the APC for the president’s love for Ebonyi even if for no other reason.
“My eyes are on the ball on what will get to my people.
“You know I am his son, so you can be sure that I will get the approval.
“You can say anything you want to say but the president loves me and I love him also.
“I do not know how this love happened, but you should realise that grace is always upon the house of David.
“I am the father of the state and should be ashamed that Ebonyi is heading into bitterness and disunity.
“I have decided to forgive all those who wronged me and seek same from those who may have been hurt in this process which I take responsibilities for.
“We should practice the Christianity we profess and this forgiveness has ensured that my blood pressure has dropped to 110/ 20 from 120/ 20,” he said.
It will be recalled that Umahi had in the cause of last month dumped PDP to join the ruling APC.
Buhari who was the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2019 presidential election defeated Atiku Abubakar of the PDP to emerge as the country’s president for the second time.
Reacting to Umahi’s defection, the governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike accused Umahi of dumping PDP for his presidential ambition.
