Don Jazzy at his wedding
Popular Nigerian beatmaker, Don Jazzy, stunned his many fans when he revealed that 18 years ago, he married American model and writer, Michelle, but divorced after two years. Shortly after the disclosure, Nigerians thronged his Twitter to ask for more details.
Furthermore, some fans of the music producer went to Michelle’s page to beg her to take back the ace music executive.
Reacting to a tweet by @OmoGbajaBiamila which read, “Did Don Jazzy ask Nigerians to help him beg his ex-wife to come back? Abi iru awon amunibuni wo leleyi?”, Don Jazzy revealed that this ex-wife is married with a child. The music producer replied, “Lol somebody that is now married again with a child sef.”

A peek at his ex-wife’s Instagram page reveals that she has since moved on with her life as she has a young son whom she celebrated a few years ago.
Taking to her Instagram page, the dotting mother shared a picture of her son in a spiderman costume and wrote, “My little superman (in a spiderman outfit) Love him to death. This is a few years old now but still… I know if he had real superhero powers he would save me every time.”
Ever since Don Jazzy broke the news of his marriage, he is trending at the number two spot on Twitter with over 14,000 tweets.
Breaking the news to his fans, the music producer wrote on his verified Instagram page, “For so long, everyone keeps asking me when am I getting married? Well, the truth is almost 18 years ago, I was 20 and I got married to my best friend Michelle @yarnstaswitch and it was beautiful.
“I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is soooo beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then, me being so young and full of dreams, I went and messed it up cos I was giving all my time to my music. Music became a priority instead of my family.
“We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt. I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and mess it up again. So, I’m taking my time. Why am I just saying this now?? I really like to keep my relationships private actually. Past or present. But I was watching the bounce interview with Ebuka, which is almost like a tell-all interview, and I felt bad skipping this huge part of my life. So yeah, make una no vex o.”
Moreso, some Nigerians on Twitter are hailing popular singers – D’banj and Wande Coal – for keeping Don Jazzy’s secret despite the fact that they have parted ways.
Alex Oluwatobi, via his handle @alexlobaloba, in a series of tweet, stated that the singers are matured to have kept Don Jazzy’s secret.
“Big respect to Don Jazzy’s close folks; they knew he was once married and kept it top secret. Bigger respect to Dbanj & Wande Coal for knowing all these and not spewing shit during the friction that led to the dissolution of Mohits years back. That’s legendary level maturity!
“Before I tweeted that, I reached out to a friend who was once with Baseline records & a close pal of DJ Big N; he confirmed that even DJ Big N that came after the dissolution of Mohits knew about it and kept it top secret. Imagine, DJ Big N that came yesterday ó..
“Even Solek, the guy Jazzy was playing piano for as at then, knew about it. Kas, JJC and the whole 419 squad movement knew about it, but they didn’t spew shit. I doubt if some of you even know any of the names mentioned above,” he tweeted.
“In everything that happened, Dbanj never brought Don Jazzy marriage up. Omo shey that kind friendship still dey?” Roviel, via his handle @ObongRoviel, queried.
Another Twitter user, @Chydee, simply tweeted, “We all need close friends like Don Jazzy, Banky W and Adesua’s close friends. Your secret will be safe with them, no matter what.”
