Insecurity: Those Around Buhari Should Ask Him To Resign – NEF Spokesman

In a series of tweets, the NEF spokesman said 2023 might be the worst considering the country’s current state.

Following the worsening insecurity in the country, The Northern Elders Forum spokesman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said that those around President Muhammadu Buhari should ask him to resign.

In a series of tweets, the NEF spokesman said 2023 might be the worst considering the country’s current state.

He lamented over the level of power Buhari has as a president.

According to Baba-Ahmed: “When you have a President with huge powers like ours has, NOBODY leads anything. He is everything. He sets standards.

“He determines how those below him work. Even VP, governors, Legislators, Ministers etc. He can’t pass the buck. Where you have a near-total collapse, he is responsible.

“This is MY PERSONAL opinion; I am terrified by the state of Nigeria. I am more terrified by what it will be by May 2023.

“If there are people he listens to, they should ask him to consider resigning. Any lawful option is better than his continuing. Raise your voice, Nigeria. It’s enough.”

Aduda and some other senators of the Peoples Democratic Party then walked out of the plenary.

It was learnt that some lawmakers that were displeased with the worsening security situation in the country had threatened to impeach the President.

It was learnt that at the commencement of the plenary on Tuesday, the lawmakers questioned the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, on why the issue of insecurity was not in the Order Paper.
